Greetings in the name of the Lord!

It’s Easter!  We are continuing to develop our HOME CHURCH 2020 resources to best meet the needs of our church family.  This Easter we have a specific plan that we want you to follow to continue to focus on Christ as you worship in your homes.

Make plans to “attend” the easter services this week.   All of these services will be at NCOC Online located at!  Remember CHURCH is not bound by the limitations of man but released through the Power of God Word.

       4/10 7pm Good Friday Service

       4/12 7am Sunrise Service

      4/12 10:30am Easter Celebration Service

Make sure to take advantage of the other resources we have to offer through our Online Community.  If you have not done so sign up for RIGHT-NOW MEDIA for FREE at the church website.  You will get 1000’s of bible studies, shows, and more to help you grow spiritually.

ADULTS :  Continue studying through the Easter Experience to get a different view of the characters and circumstances around the Passion Story.  Also keep up with the First Peter study as we will come back to it this week.

KIDS: RightNow Media has been a huge help in keeping our kids engaged and growing in their spiritual walks. We have enjoyed the adventure of Ryan Defrates and 1 Peter.  This week check out the “Easter Week“  5-minute Family Devotions our channel.

GIVING….THANK YOU! We want to say thank you for continuing to support he church financially through online giving, drop offs, and mail.  You are blessing the finance ministry and helping them trust in God’s direction at this time to meet the church’s needs.

Other than that everything will continue with the new normal.  We look forward to introducing a new focus once we get through the 1 Peter Series plan.

We are continuing to do our part in “leveling out the curve” here at Nashville Church of Christ.  We will continue to have any ON-SIGHT/IN-PERSON activities or programs at this time.  We will continue developing our online ministries and HOME CHURCH 2020 resources.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room….WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO FOR EASTER?

EASTER SERVICES:  We will have two DRIVE-IN services at the church 9:00am and 10:30am.  The service will last between 30 minutes in length and individuals MUST STAY IN THEIR VEHICLES.  The building and bathrooms will not be available for use.  We have confirmed that this is within state guideline from Holmes County Health Department.  We will have a max of 60 cars at each service.  Sign up on Facebook by telling us you are going to one of the two separate events.  You may also call in to confirm what time you are planning on coming.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE:  Nashville Church of Christ, Ripley Church of Christ, and Millersburg Christian Church will be broadcasting a Good Friday Service, at 7 pm on Friday April 10th.  Go to our Mobile Church, , facebook, or Youtube channel at 7pm to watch it with our entire community.

FACEBOOK LIVE:  Each day Josh or I will lead a devotion on Facebook live at 10am to get our day and week focused on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Interact with the video and share it with others as a way of encouragement.

YOUVERSION BIBLE READING PLAN:  Start this Sunday the 5th to join us in reading/commenting through the Easter Experience Bible plan.  Follow the link to join the group

EASTER STUDY:  During the week of Easter we want to challenge you to be part of the Nashville Church of Christ EASTER EXPERIENCE a 30 minute per day (I know that sounds like a lot) where you will study personally or with others to prepare your hearts for easter. Either face-to-face or in our homes we will remember why Jesus came, died, and rose again.

To those chosen, living as exiles dispersed abroad…  (1 Peter 1:1a)

It is amazing that the first communication we made about our plan was less than two weeks ago.  I think it would be an understatement  to say that our faith family is amazing.

The sun is out and I have enjoyed watching family after family walk from town to walk our trail.  In the last three hours I have witnessed atleast five different families walking the trail.  Who knew that a piece of our property could be such a great tools for families and singles.

We wanted to update you of the plan here at Nashville Church of Christ.  Since we are in a  “Stay at Home” state order there is no church “Organized” programming going on at this time.  We will update you if any of that changes.

Once again one thing that we have been stressing is that Church is not this building but you!  Hopefully you received your HOME CHURCH FAMILY NEWS in the mail describing our plan for Church for the next few weeks as we prepare for Easter.

First know that if we can meet we will but once again we will plan for what is the new normal.  Easter week we have put together a plan in which we will enter into an EASTER EXPERIENCE.    Each day you will watch a video on Right Now Media located in the Nashville Church of Christ Website and participate in the questions given.  If you want to do this as a private study or an online group discussion it should be awesome.  Each morning at 9am there will be a Facebook Live devotion.  This all starts April 5th.

WHAT ABOUT EASTER?  Our plan right now is to have a  DRIVE-UP WORSHIP SERVICE.  We will have about a 35-40 minute service at 10:30am in which you will drive up in your car, roll your windows down (or tune in on your radio) and enjoy a great worship service. This will be an abbreviated service because we will NOT have the building or bathrooms open.  Once again this is our plan…we will see if it will be possible.

May grace and peace be multiplied to you. (1 Peter 1:2b)

March 13th 2020

Hey, Nashville!  What a strange few days we’ve seen.  Because the current situation is fluid and changing frequently, we have a few updates to share with you.  Before I get there, I want to remind you of Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 1:7.  “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

While the world around us may seem to be losing it’s collective mind, we rest in the confidence that the battle is already won.

That being said, in light of recent developments surrounding the spread of Covid-19, we are going to be making some temporary adjustments to how we “do church” at Nashville Church of Christ.  We won’t live in fear, but we will make choices out of respect and care for both the spiritual and physical wellbeing of those who are part of our body.

Yesterday Governor Dewine and the Ohio Department of Health issued an order restricting the gathering of people in groups of 100 or more.  While there is an exemption for religious organizations, we want to do what we can to make wise decisions and respect the authority of our government.

Romans 13 says “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.  Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

In times of high stress and uncertainty, we need to lean in to the church, lean in to the body of believers, and lean in to the supremacy of Christ.

So what does all this mean for Nashville Church of Christ?  As of the writing of this announcement (Friday, March 13, 2020) we will hold our Sunday morning worship service this Sunday, March 15th, with a few adjustments:

    • There will be no Sunday School
    • There will be no childcare (Tiny Trek) for infants through Pre-K.
    • Children’s Church (KT) will be offered for children in grades K-6
    • All children will be welcome to stick with their parents for our service in the Sanctuary if that’s what they prefer

In addition:

  • We will be propping doors open so you don’t have to touch them
  • We will not be passing communion trays, but instead you will pick up an individually wrapped serving when you enter
  • We will not pass offering plates, but instead will have them at the door as you leave.
  • We will be spacing the seats out a bit more in the sanctuary
  • And we will have plenty of hand sanitizer and soap for washing hands.

As a reminder of something we should do a better job of all the time, please wash your hands before you come and stay home if you or your children are or might be sick.

All that being said, we will also be live streaming our service on Facebook so regardless of if you are someone who is high risk, home sick, or just wanting to take that extra step of precaution, you can still participate with us in the service.  We will also encourage you to continue your regular giving with our online giving options through our website

If you choose to stay home you may also take advantage of our online giving through or simply text "GIVE" to 330-295-2555 and follow the instructions.

After Sunday Services, for this coming week ALL church related activities/programming are canceled.  We feel that although we have the right to do whatever we want as a Christian organization we can also respect the authority of our government and limit extracurricular activities.

Parents should have received an email from Miss Becky about the KT lunch and trip to Majora Lane which have been cancelled.  Also, we will be rescheduling our Overcomer movie night.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update things as needed.

Beyond that, we have an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus right now.  Keep a level head, help your elderly neighbors, spend some of this new extra time digging deep into God’s word as a family, smile, and check in on the family across the street.

In two weeks or two months now, let’s look back, regardless of the outcome of all of this, and feel good about the choices we made today.  What a great chance for us to be a light to a hurting and frightened world.

We want to do everything we can to stay connected as a church family;  Please watch our website and social media for updates as the next few days and weeks unfold and help us spread the word on updates to those who aren’t connected to us online.  Reach out to each other;  a two minute phone call to say “Hi!  I’m thinking of and praying for you!” might make someones day.

Also, please reach out to Brad or Elders: Roy, Stan, Jeff or Justin if you have any needs or concerns.

We love you deeply and look forward to seeing you again soon.
